Church Directory

Spirit of Peace is creating a “Church Directory Extraordinaire” – unlike any church directory you’ve probably ever seen! It will be part directory, part book of memories, and in all ways an expression in words, art, and photos of who we are as a faith community. It will not be complete without you! Please sign up (see sign-up sheet at church or email Suzi at suzi@europa.com)for a time to have Brianna take your photo. And stay tuned to other ways you can lend your creativity and spirit to this very fun and meaningful project.

Monday Evening Book Group

Discussions will resume on January 2nd at Bellewood Retirement Community, 3710 Providence Point Drive SE from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. We will discuss the first chapter of “An Altar in the World” by Barbara Brown Taylor (click here to see it Amazon.com) on January 2, 2012. Jan. 2 -- meet and start discussing new book: Barbara Brown Taylor's An Altar in the World.

Jan. 9 -- continue new book.

Jan. 16 & 23 -- no meetings (Dave on study trip with United Seminary of the Twin Cities to Chiapas, Mexico).

Jan. 30 and on -- should be quite consistent!

United Church of Christ Pacific Northwest Conference Annual Men’s Retreat at Pilgrim Firs

The Men’s Retreat Planning Group is pleased to announce the 2011 Men’s Retreat, Thursday, February 3 (Day of Silence) through Sunday noon, February 6, 2011.

The theme of the retreat is: Men’s Health: Body and Soul.
Our speakers are the Rev. Dave Shull and Dr. Paul Wiesner.
The cost of the retreat (if paid before January 1) is:
» Silent Retreat: $60;
» Weekend: $100; and
» Full Retreat $155.
After January 1 the Silent Retreat is $60; the Weekend $110 and the Full Retreat $165.

Please pass this invitation along to the men in your church and those outside the church you feel would enjoy this experience. The registration will be the same as previous years.

We encourage men to sign up online through the Pilgrim Firs website (www.pilgrimfirs.org). Men will be able to do this as soon as it is available, which should be within the next couple of weeks.

We will also post a registration form and information on the Pacific Northwest Conference website (www.pncucc.org). Scholarships are available.
